The Hario Skerton Plus hand grinder uses ceramic conical burrs for grinding, considered the best configuration for hand-grinding coffee. Ceramic burrs hold less static charge, they stay cooler during grinding, and they clean more thoroughly than steel burrs. The Hario Skerton can also be adjusted to produce a range of grind sizes, with a burr stabilizing plate to stabilise burrs while grinding.
The grinder is made with a rubber base to keep it steady when grinding, and the glass is toughened to guard against breakage.
